Since 2018, Stairway has partnered with schools in Puerto Galera to celebrate World Oceans Day as a way to bring students near the fascinating beauty and bounty of the oceans as well as to raise awareness and promote action about the effects of plastic pollution and global warming of our oceans.
During the community quarantine due to the current coronavirus pandemic, beaches around Puerto Galera have become cleaner and more pristine, allowing nature to flourish. As we emerge from the quarantine and return to our everyday activities, let us remember to care and protect the environment.
We mark this year’s World Oceans Day with a 360 tour of our coastal environment and contemplate how we will continuously spread, pursue our calls, and take action– online and offline—for sustainable tourism, sustainable fishing, and marine protection. Enjoy!
