Stairway Foundation winner of 2015 Impact Award

The Stars Impact Awards recognise and reward outstanding local organisations improving the lives of children in the countries with the highest rates of under-five mortality.

Since 2007, the Impact Awards have recognised local civil society organisations in 30 countries, reaching more than four million people.

Stairway is one of 8 winners selected in the South East Asia regional cluster. As a winner the Foundation will receive US$50,000 in flexible funding and access to tailored capacity building support through workshops in the region.

Lars C. Jorgensen, executive director of Stairway Foundation, will be attending a short week of events in Paris this December which will culminate with the Philanthropreuneurship Forum on December 12th. The theme of this year will be the frontiers of philanthropy.  Speakers include: Christine Anamapour, Chelsea Clinton, and David Rokefeller Jr, as well as many other distinguished speakers.

Sessions earlier in the week (Wed 9th – Fri 11th) will be to discuss the award and capacity building plans. Lars will also have the opportunity to meet the leaders of all 24 winners from the three regions. On Saturday 12th of December he will receive the award and attend Stars’ annual gala dinner, hosted by Stars Foundation’s founder, His Excellency Amr Al-Dabbagh.

To date, across all programmes, Stars Foundation has awarded 127 organisations in 53 countries, reaching over 4,928,000 people.
