Stairway’s 36th Anniversary

We recently held a meaningful and joyful celebration of Staff Day and Earth Day—marking our 36th year with a spirit of gratitude, connection, and shared purpose. Set against the natural beauty of Medio Island, the experience became more than just a gathering—it was a time to reconnect not only with one another, but with nature itself.

Through simple moments, team activities, and quiet reflection, we were reminded of the lessons nature continues to teach us—about balance, care, and sustainability. Stepping away from our daily routines created space for rest, clarity, and a deeper sense of well-being.

The final day unfolded as a true celebration, filled with energy, laughter, and togetherness. Activities throughout the day encouraged movement and connection, reinforcing the importance of caring for both body and mind.

From a vibrant art workshop with Henri Lamy, to baking buns with Kuya Rommel—one of Stairway’s own beneficiaries—each moment carried its own story. Some explored the sea through freediving with the team from Freediving Puerto Galera (Kuya Marco and Ate Charm), while others filled the space with laughter during karaoke led by Kuya Azer. There was also creative soap making with Ate Amihan, and the simple joy of slowing down and being cared for through relaxing massages from our local masseuses.

The celebration came to an exciting close with the pickleball and basketball championship matches on our newly renovated basketball court—bringing everyone together in a final moment of teamwork, energy, and shared joy.

More than just a celebration, the event reaffirmed Stairway’s commitment to nurturing both its people and the environment—reminding us that when we take time to pause, learn from nature, and move forward together with purpose, we strengthen not only our work, but our well-being as a team.

Thank you to the entire Stairway team, our family, friends, and supporters who made this 36th year such a meaningful and memorable celebration.
