The Danish company Grundfos is a world leader in manufacturing pumps for a great variety of purposes. Grundfos is also taking a lead in developing green solutions for sustainable development, which is manifested in action both at a global and local level.
For Stairway, a local initiative from the Grundfos IT department in Manila has translated into 2 generous donations that were generated from savings on electricity and water at their office space in Manila. Over 2 years, an active concern from all employees resulted in savings of several hundred thousands of pesos, and the same amount was donated to Stairway to support our Environmental Awareness for Children and Youth (EACY) program. This way the effort of the Grundfos team had a double positive effect on our environment. Raising awareness and education children and Youth on the need for active environmental concern is a long term investment, and probably the only way we can promote an attitude of respect for a healthy balanced environment, which is the very source of our own existence.
On February 21 Stairway was once again invited to Grundfos in Manila to give a presentation about Stairway’s work. Around 100 employees attended the presentation, which was followed by a small ceremony in which head of Grundfos IT Philippines, Mr. Christian Holme-Pedersen handed over 10 refurbished laptops to Stairway executive director, Lars Jorgensen.
