Stairway Foundation and DepEd launch the CyberSafe project manuals

Did you know that according to the CyberSafe survey taken in 2015 that 5 out of 10 Filipino students stated that no one has talked to them about cybersafety?   With the Philippines turning into a digital nation, it is essential to guide and protect the youth when using the internet.

Last March 30, Stairway Foundation in partnership with the Department of Education launched the first ever CyberSafe project.  Now thousands of public school teachers in the Philippines can access the CyberSafe portal and download online modules/lesson plans to implement in the classrooms.

Two major television stations, ABS-CBN and GMA 7 along with several national newspapers generously covered the launching of the CyberSafe project, last March 30 in which Stairway offered technical assistance to curriculum writers from the Department of Education to produce manuals for teachers teach Filipino students about online safety.

The manuals contain individual lesson plans targeting grades 5 to 6 pupils and junior high school students.

The manuals are available for download on www.deped.gov.ph and www.cybersafe.asia
